The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our tax team at our Head Office in Lincoln. The size of our Lincoln tax team and the quality of work available is unrivalled in the area and we can offer exposure to complex private client work, trust and estate work and the fast moving world of digital assets taxation. You may have started or finished your ATT or CTA studies, have some tax experience and looking for a new challenge. Whilst this role is full time, a 4 day week or minimum of 30 hours would be considered for an exceptional candidate

general responsibilities

  • Preparing annual tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts
  • Corresponding with HM Revenue and Customs as required, including assisting with any enquiries raised
  • Liaising directly with clients (and third parties where necessary) to obtain all information to complete returns
  • Liaising with accounts team members to ensure timely service
  • Preparing capital gains tax computations and electronic filing of reports
  • Providing advice to clients in respect of tax matters
  • Tax research as necessary including supporting our advisory services
  • Supporting the other tax professionals across the practice

skills and qualities

  • ATT / CTA qualified or studier / qualified by experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in preparation of tax returns
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Focussed on meeting deadlines through effective multi-tasking
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Commercial approach to work
